JRA cautions motorists of sinkhole between Earp and John streets, Booysens
Approach Earp and John streets in Booysens with caution.
The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) urges motorists travelling along Earp and John streets in Booysens to exercise extreme caution when approaching the intersection.
A large section of the road between Earp and John streets has subsided, resulting in the formation of a sinkhole.
JRA teams have barricaded Earp Street, which becomes Webber Street, to carry out compact works throughout this week as an interim solution.
Motorists can use Booysens Road or Hans Pirow Street as alternative routes as high traffic impact is anticipated during peak hours.
Plans to rehabilitate roads in the Booysens and Wemmerpan areas are in design phases and will be communicated in due course.
The JRA apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks road users for their cooperation during this time.
