The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng congratulates Cllr Thapelo Amad on his election as Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg.
According to the MMC for Housing in the City of Joburg, councillor Mlungisi Mabaso the new Mayor is expected to bring stability to the city and steady its course.

“The IFP stands ready to support the new Mayor as he takes up the mantle left by his predecessor, Cllr Mpho Phalatse, in leading the coalition government in the country’s economic hub,” he said.
“It is our hope that Cllr Amad will lead the march in ensuring uninterrupted quality service delivery at CoJ,” said Mabaso.
Mabaso added that the IFP extends its well wishes to the incoming Members of the Mayoral Executive.
“We urge them to always remember that the citizens of Johannesburg deserve nothing less than full commitment to competent and ethical governance.”
