Ekurhuleni South Darts Association congratulates its juniors

Alberton juniors played well during the recent open, with Nakita de Lange taking fifth overall and Tienie Marais taking third place.

Alberton juniors Nakita de Lange and Tienie Marais from Ekurhuleni South Darts Association (ESDA) were victorious at the recent Pretoria North Darts Association (PNDA) Open held at Dinwiddie Sports Club.

After technical issues and a late start at the PNDA Open, the ESDA ‘blue machine family’ still managed to fly their flag.

Delian Bennett, secretary and business unit manager, said it was a long and gruelling day for some of their family members but they enjoyed fantastic results.

“Sally J’arlette-joy managed to throw to the top 16 and threw a couple of 140s along the way. Pie Badenhorst, Chipoyera Tinashe and Jacques Botha made it through the block section and to the top 64, where their journeys ended,” she said.

She said Alfred Ungerer, Brad Blume and Rajesh Ramnund made it a little further by reaching the top 32.

“Fellow teammate Wayne Ellis took Rajesh out. Bradley Gertenbach reached the top 16, but also his journey came to an end. Wayne Ellis had a good run by taking third place. Hugo Deysel won the open by beating his opponent 4-1 in the finals, where he managed to obtain a 150 closure,” explained Bennett.

The senior members of ESDA commended their juniors for a good play.

“There were 20 juniors who entered the open and from those, Nakita de Lange managed to end fifth overall and Tienie Marais took third place,” she said.

She also thanked everyone who attended and represented the ‘Blue Machine Family’.

“Thank you for the support you give one another, even after falling out of the open. ESDA is proud of your achievements, sportsmanship and for representing our family,” Bennett said.
