Law enforcers and interested parties reach out to those in need
Brackendowns SAPS, CPF representatives and Mrs Universe SA semi-finalist 2023 Junola Munsami joined hands to reach out to Thinasonke informal settlement and Amcare.

Brackendowns SAPS, CPF representatives and Mrs Universe SA semi-finalist 2023 Junola Munsami, also an employee at SAPS, visited residents of Thinasonke informal settlement and proceeded to Amcare on September 30.
Their joint effort saw them raising awareness of contact crimes, domestic violence and drug abuse among residents of Thinasonke (sector three). They then proceeded to hand over dignitary packs to Amcare as part of their dignity care packs campaign.

According to Sergeant Lindile Moloi, social crime coordinator at Brackendowns SAPS, the purpose was to sensitise the community to be aware of contact crimes like assault and domestic violence.
“Station commander Colonel Jacoline van der Westhuizen highlighted the issue of alcohol and drugs being the main contributing factor in most of the crimes reported, especially over the weekends. She also gave them the new telephone numbers for the station,” she explained.
The community was advised not to open cases to threaten the perpetrators to pay them for their actions.
Van der Westhuizen thanked everyone who participated in the crime awareness campaign.
