Waterstone College learner Clayton Stone recently conquered the ITF World Championships in New Zealand, securing a remarkable gold medal.

Clayton Stone from Waterstone College recently participated in the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) World Championships held in New Zealand.

Marketing manager of Waterstone College, Magriet Payne said despite geographical distances, Clayton’s remarkable talent earned him an invitation and he made everyone proud by clinching a gold medal.

“The ITF World Championships is a global event that spotlights the exceptional abilities of individuals facing various disabilities and learning challenges. It serves as a platform for showcasing their incredible skills and breaking down barriers, proving that talent knows no bounds.

“Clayton Stone emerged as a star on the international stage, representing South Africa with honor and distinction. Through video entries, he showcased his prowess, earning a well-deserved gold medal. His accomplishment serves as both a tribute to his own commitment and a brilliant illustration of the potential that each and every person possesses, regardless of their particular skills or obstacles.

“Clayton’s journey continues even after this remarkable accomplishment. His continuous commitment to martial arts is demonstrated by his current goal of earning his black belt. Now that November has arrived, Clayton is ready to reach yet another significant achievement in his amazing journey,” said Payne.

Payne said looking ahead, Clayton is already gearing up for the next edition of the World Championships, to be held once again in New Zealand.
