‘Building hijacker’ Jonathan Constable killed in Braamfontein

There were other cases in the south in which Constable was involved.

Infamous Jonathan Constable was reportedly fatally shot by several unknown gunmen in Braamfontein on the night of May 20.

Constable, the president of the National Inclusive Congress of South Africa (Nicsa), had been in and out of court and prison due to “building hijackings”.

The Southern Courier crossed paths with Constable in 2017 when he was in a dispute with landlord Marlon Pillay on Daisy Street, Rosettenville. At the time, he instructed the tenants not to pay rent to the landlord.

Colonel Noxolo Kwezi said, “I can confirm that Hillbrow police are investigating a murder docket after a 53-year-old man was shot and killed in Braamfontein last night.”
