JHB Flying Squad members were patrolling in La Rochelle at around 20:30 on September 9 when a suspect who was carrying a 5m copper cable was stopped.
The suspect was questioned and could not provide proof of ownership and was subsequently placed under arrest for damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure and possession of suspected stolen property.
The suspect was detained at Moffat View SAPS.
