Fugitive suspect detained following community tip-off

A vigilant resident and the swift action of CPS Security led to the detention of a wanted suspect who failed to appear in court

A rapid and coordinated response by CPS Security has resulted in the successful detention of a suspect wanted in connection with serious criminal offences in Albertsdal.

The incident followed a report from a vigilant resident who alerted a CPS Security tactical member after recognising a suspect previously arrested for house robbery and attempted sexual assault.

The suspect had been released on bail but failed to appear in court and was subsequently wanted by the authorities.

Acting immediately on the information received, the CPS Security member responded to the area, where the suspect was positively identified and detained without incident.

The individual was then handed over to Brackendowns SAPS.

The case is being handled by Germiston SAPS, with arrangements confirmed for the suspect to be collected, as a warrant of arrest has been issued.
