Bust in Alberton as Hawks raid illegal abalone plant, 6 arrested

The DPCI (Hawks) are currently on the scene at an illegal abalone processing plant, with six arrested and operations are ongoing.

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), commonly known as the Hawks, is actively investigating a crime scene in Alberton after uncovering a large illegal abalone processing plant.

According to SAPS, six suspects were arrested directly at the site. Police officers remain on the scene, conducting investigations and processing the scene to gather more evidence.

Further details have not yet been released, with further information expected to be released in due course.
