A coordinated response between Fox Security and community volunteers led to the arrest of two suspects in Suideroord and Mondeor following a distress alert shared on a local community group.

According to Fox, a message was circulated indicating that a person required urgent assistance.

Members of Fox Tactical, together with the Mondeor CPF Sector 2, responded promptly and located the victim shortly after receiving the alert.

Upon arrival, the victim told responders she had been forced to walk with a suspect and was uncertain about the situation.

She reported that the suspect had instructed her to accompany her to a nearby shopping centre, raising concerns about her safety.

During further investigation, authorities discovered a bag in the suspect’s possession containing what appeared to be a substantial amount of counterfeit money.

When questioned, the suspect allegedly admitted the intention had been to rob the victim.

A second suspect was subsequently located at a nearby McDonald’s, where she had reportedly been waiting for the victim to be brought to her. Both individuals were apprehended without incident.

Operations director of Fox Security, Francois Jansen, commended the rapid response.

“This incident highlights exactly why strong communication within community groups is vital. The quick action taken by a vigilant resident, combined with the immediate response from our teams and CPF members, ensured that a potentially dangerous situation was brought under control before any harm could occur,” he said.

Community leaders have praised the resident who raised the alarm, noting that the swift reporting played a crucial role in ensuring the victim’s safety and enabling a rapid response.
