WATCH: 7 families homeless after Booysens fire

Urgent help needed after families lose it all in house fire.

A house in Booysens, home to seven families, burnt down on November 3.

The families are now completely destitute as everything they owned burnt in the house fire. Luckily no one from the home was injured during the fire.

A house in Booysens, home to seven families, burnt down on November 3. The families are now completely homeless as everything they owned burnt in the house fire. Luckily no one from the home was injured during the fire. A young lady who lived in the home is writing her matric exams this year and her ID and books were lost in the fire as well.

Donations, big or small will bring some welcome relief to the the families. Tinned foods, blankets, and clothes for adults and children will be welcomed.

The Booysens CPF has been aiding the families with support. Mpho Tshikonwane, Booysens CPF secretary spoke about the impact the fire has had on the families.

“The fire has devastated the families, especially the younger children. Everyday life becomes harder when you have no home. We appeal to the community for any help they can provide,” said Mpho.
