Wear your heart on your soles to support Flip Flop Day

Valentine’s Day celebrates love, but this year, love takes on a deeper meaning. Grab your flip-flop, get your R10 sticker and stand with children battling cancer.

South Africans are invited to step up as a Sole Mate on February 14, and support children and teens battling cancer by taking part in Flip Flop Day, hosted by the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa.

More than just a fashion statement, this day is a call to action – a chance to stand in solidarity with children and teenagers battling cancer.

For just R10, participants can buy a Flip Flop Day sticker and wear their flip-flops to show solidarity and raise funds for families affected by childhood cancer.

Childhood cancer is a hard journey, but no family should face it alone.

The funds raised will help CHOC provide accommodation, transport, psychosocial support and education for over 1 500 children and teens in its care.

How to get involved

Buy a Flip Flop Day sticker at Tekkie Town, the CHOC regional offices or online.

Wear your flops and stickers on February 14 to show your support.

Spread the word by sharing photos on social media with #FlipFlopDay2025.

Hedley Lewis, the CHOC CEO, said, “Flip Flop Day is more than just a fun event – it’s a movement of kindness and support. Every R10 donation makes a real difference in the lives of children and teens battling cancer.”

Let’s step up as Sole Mates and show love in every soleful step this Valentine’s Day.
