Marist Brothers Linmeyer marks Ash Wednesday with faith and reflection
The school community came together in faith to receive ashes, marking the start of Lent with a commitment to prayer and fasting.
Marist Brothers Linmeyer learners, teachers and parents or guardians gathered in faith to observe Ash Wednesday, a solemn occasion marking the beginning of Lent.
During the Ash Wednesday liturgy, they received the ash, a symbol of penance, renewal and spiritual reflection.
The ashes, imposed in the shape of a cross, hold a deep significance, a reminder to turn away from sin andembrace a life of faith, recognise our human fragility and dependence on God’s grace and a commitment to prayer, fasting and almsgiving in preparation for Easter.

This sacred season invites members of the Catholic faith to strengthen their faith, practise self-discipline and draw closer to God.
As the school community and broader Catholic faith members embark on this forty-day Lenten journey, they reflect on the Good News and the transformative power of faith and redemption.
