Booysens CPF patroller loses everything in house fire
Tukie Lubamba's home gutted by fire suspected to be caused by electrical fault — she pleads for help from the community
Tragedy struck as Booysens CPF patroller, Tukie Lubamba’s home was gutted in the early evening of April 24.
The 42-year-old mother said she came home from her mother around 18:00 to cook.

“The electric cord that I use for my two-plate stove is usually plugged in in our bedroom. While I was cooking in the kitchen I heard a loud bang sound. It seemed the sound emanated from outside adjacent to our bedroom. When I went out to investigate I was welcomed by a big flame from our bedroom. I called for help from neighbours and we tried to quell the fire, however, it was too big and I’ve lost everything there.

“Before the fire, my three-year-old daughter asked me to go to sleep and I told her he must wait for her father and I’m grateful I did that because she was going to sleep in the very same room that caught fire,” explained Tukie.

She mentioned that Fidelity and SA Rangers came to help and other people, however, the damage was already done. Tukie suspected that there was an electric fault somewhere and the fire started. “I’m appealing to the community to please help us as we have nothing. Anything be is clothes, furniture or food, we will appreciate,” she said.
Tukie can be contacted on 073 209 8108 or contact her commander at Booysens CPF who is also the community leader, Nqobani ‘Gatsheni’ Ndlovu on 074 824 3388.
