Support young lives this Mandela Day at The Glen
The Stepping Stone Palliative Care Services team and their new Hospice mascot, Victor, will be at The Glen Shopping Centre on July 18 from 09:00 to 13:00 to observe Mandela Day.
This Mandela Day, members of the 5-star-rated NPO Stepping Stone Hospice will be at The Glen Shopping Centre on July 18 to raise awareness of their services and much-needed funds.
They invite the community to join this initiative, held from 09:00 to 13:00, as it embodies Nelson Mandela’s spirit of service and compassion.
Visitors to The Glen will learn more about Stepping Stone’s vital work in providing specialised palliative care while contributing to a cause that directly impacts local families during their most challenging times.
Adding to the day’s appeal, the hospice’s mascot, Victor, will be present throughout the event, bringing smiles and joy to visitors of all ages while helping to spread awareness about the organisation’s mission.

“We are grateful to The Glen Shopping Centre for the generous opportunity to have a stall on July 18 to reach out to the community.
“Our mission is to create a warm and welcoming environment that brings joy and comfort to our patients. We believe every patient deserves to feel loved, cherished, and supported, regardless of their diagnosis or prognosis,” said Tersia Burger, CEO and founder of Stepping Stone Hospice.
She said the Centre’s support allows them to reach more community members and share the important work they do.
Central to the fundraising efforts will be a cupcake sale, with all the proceeds supporting the hospice’s young patients.
The NPO requests the community’s support, either by donating homemade cupcakes for the sale or by contributing monetary donations to help purchase them. Contact Tammy on 082 371 7053.
