CPS Security arrests two in Oakdene incidents
CPS Security apprehended two people in separate Oakdene incidents as criminals target vacant homes.
CPS Security arrested two people in separate incidents in the Oakdene area.
In the first case, a mobile License Plate Recognition triggered an alert in Mulbarton for a vehicle linked to a theft. CPS reaction officers located the car and tried to stop it, but the driver fled. After a short chase, officers stopped it in Oakdene.
The JMPD Tactical Response Unit helped arrest the man, who faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, attempted murder, theft, bribery and corruption, and reckless and negligent driving.
He is detained at the Moffatview Police Station.

In a separate incident on Berry Road, CPS officers responded to reports of two unknown males jumping over a residential wall. Backup arrived, and a search of the property resulted in the arrest of one person while the other escaped.
According to CPS Security, the suspects had begun stripping a vacant property believed to have recently been sold. They handed the arrested individual to the Moffatview SAPS.
CPS Security warns that criminals are increasingly targeting vacant.
“This has become a regular occurrence, especially in properties that were sold and await new owners. We urge homeowners to keep alarms active and regularly visit to ensure the property has power,” CPS Security advised.
