SHIFT gaming experience at The Glen Shopping Centre

Gaming tournament brought the community out to enjoy some spectacular e-gaming moments

The SHIFT Gaming Experience made an action-packed stop at The Glen Shopping Centre, uniting top gamers from the region for a weekend of fierce competition and interactive fun.

With over R250 000 in prizes up for grabs, players battled for bragging rights, gift cards, cash, and a chance to qualify for the national finals in Cape Town this September.

The tournament featured a diverse selection of popular titles including EAFC 25, Beat Saber, Rocket League and Minecraft. Gamers of all ages and skill levels joined in, making it a vibrant and inclusive event.

Winners walked away with impressive prizes, while the top-performing players secured their place in the much-anticipated grand finale.

EAFC 25 tournament winners:

• First place: Riaasat Ebrahim from Ormonde Joburg South (29) won R2 500 and a place in the grand finale at Canal Walk

• Second place:Katlego Mpaka from Garankuwa, Pretoria (24) won R1 500

• Third place: Phathutshexzo Maluadzi from Protea Glen, Soweto (21) won R1 000

EAFC third place went to Phathutshexzo Maluadzi.

Other Winners:

• Beat Saber: Jandré van Heerden took home R1 000 and a place in the Beat Saber final at Canal Walk
Schools tournaments:

• EAFC 25: Mncedisi Khaya Ngobeza (15) from Abbots College won a R1 000 The Glen Gift Card

• Rocket League: Amaru Ebrahim (9) from Trinityhouse Glenvista won a R1 000 The Glen Gift Card

• Minecraft: Hanyi Zhuang (13) from Curro Vanderbijlpark and Kayro Arumugam (7) from Trinityhouse Glenvista won R500 The Glen Gift Cards each
