Cosmic Haven hosts a transformative children’s programme
This July 18, Cosmic Haven opens the floor to young people at Mondeor Baptist Church to speak their truth, connect with others and help shape a kinder future.
Cosmic Haven has been quietly changing young people since 2016.
With a focus on mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and core human values, this organisation has helped over 500 children grow into more confident, compassionate, and self-aware individuals.
Cosmic Haven runs several holistic programmes designed to support emotional well-being and personal growth. They work with children from various backgrounds, including those at the SOS Children’s Village in Ennerdale, Finetown, and Lenasia.
Their approach is simple but powerful. They give children the tools to understand themselves, express feelings in a healthy way, and live with purpose.
A closer look at the programmes
Loving the Wonder of Me’is a programme that helps children build self-esteem and embrace their individuality. Through stories, activities, and reflection, children learn to love who they are.
Another key programme is Mindfulness and the Gift of Emotions, which teaches children how to be present and handle emotions calmly and thoughtfully.
Children are encouraged to see emotions as useful messages rather than something to fear or hide.
‘Zen Reset’, a mindfulness-in-action programme, gives children time to breathe, move gently, and reset their nervous systems. It is especially helpful for those dealing with stress or difficult environments.

The Values programme connects children with timeless values such as trust, gratitude, and respect. Through discussions and group work, they learn how to apply these principles in everyday life, and how living by values can lead to greater happiness and connection.
Why these programmes matter
The programmes are typically delivered over five weeks and tailored for children from five to 18.
Each week builds on the previous one, introducing practical tools and reflective practices. Sessions are interactive, engaging, and supported by workbooks, trained facilitators, and nourishing refreshments. Two to three months later, a follow-up session assesses the impact and reinforces learning.
Trené Poragadu shared: “At Cosmic Haven, we are not only offering programmes. We are nurturing future leaders who lead with love, awareness, and integrity.
“Whether a child comes from a home filled with support or one facing deep adversity, our mission remains the same – to help them discover their inner strength and build a life grounded in purpose, joy, and mindfulness,” she added.
As part of their ongoing work, the organisation will host a special Youth Dialogue on Mandela Day, July 18, at Mondeor Baptist Church from 10:00 to 15:00, where young people can speak openly about the issues they face and explore how to create safe spaces in their communities.
Cosmic Haven continues to make a difference – one child at a time.
