Winter warmth drive reaches 500 in Turffontein
Moti Cares and Meals on Wheels brought comfort to 500 vulnerable residents in Turffontein, handing out blankets, meals and kindness to those in need.
Moti Cares, in partnership with Meals on Wheels, hosted a winter outreach initiative on July 10, bringing warmth, comfort and hope to 500 people in need.
The event, held at 134 Stanton Street, Turffontein, was attended by volunteers and community members who came together to make a meaningful difference.

The initiative provided essential items and support to those most vulnerable during the cold winter months. Five hundred blankets, hot meals, loaves of bread and party packs were distributed.
Transportation was arranged for those who needed it, ensuring everyone could attend and benefit from the outreach.

The event was a great success, with 500 people not only receiving winter essentials but also experiencing love, care and compassion from the volunteers.
The community united to spread warmth, kindness and generosity.

“There’s no dignity in being cold and hungry. We believe in showing up consistently, again and again, for those people who often get overlooked, or feel like they’ve been forgotten,” said Zunaid Moti, founder of Moti Cares.
“The winter drive is about kindness, care, and reminding people they matter.”

Moti Cares and Meals on Wheels thanked all the volunteers and donors who made the event possible, acknowledging their kindness and generosity.
