TLC Children’s Centre introduces workshops to help businesses
As they face tough times, TLC Children’s Centre explores new ways of generating income through trauma workshops, bringing lasting impact to workplaces across the South.
At TLC Children’s Centre, it is understood that trauma is not merely a personal issue but that it affects how individuals engage within their communities and workplaces.
The workshop, Working in the Shadow of Trauma, is designed to help teams grasp the workings of trauma, its impact on relationships and performance, and the practical steps needed to cultivate healthier, more resilient work environments.
Why it matters
Every workplace is composed of individuals with unique stories, some of which may be shaped by hardship, loss, or adversity. Without awareness of these experiences, the effects can silently undermine communication, productivity, and overall well-being.
A trauma-informed approach helps organisations improve teamwork and leadership dynamics, enhance staff morale and resilience, and reduce burnout and staff turnover.
Recently, TLC Children’s Centre partnered with the 100% Foundation in Benoni to deliver this workshop, and the results were remarkable. The foundation’s team left with new insights, a deeper sense of empathy, and practical tools that could support both their professional and personal lives.
An invitation to companies across the South
TLC Children’s Centre invites organisations from across the South to participate in bringing this workshop to their teams.
More than just a lecture, this is an interactive, hands-on experience that fosters reflection, understanding, and personal growth.
In light of the current economic climate, where times are tough and resources are stretched, TLC Children’s Centre is also exploring new ways to generate income.
While donations remain a vital part of their funding, the organisation is introducing these paid trauma workshops, hosted by managing director Pippa Jarvis and her sister Joanna.
These workshops are aimed at helping businesses build more resilient teams, while also providing the Centre with a sustainable income source.
By investing in trauma awareness, businesses are not only strengthening their teams but also contributing to a broader culture of compassion and resilience within the workplace and beyond.
If your organisation would like to join this transformative journey, TLC Children’s Centre would be delighted to connect and discuss how they can work with you.
