Mulbarton Primary celebrates stellar achievements in math, science and sports
From district-level math stars to provincial athletes, Mulbarton Primary celebrates the hard work and perseverance of its learners.
Learners at Mulbarton Primary School have been honoured with certificates and awards, celebrating their hard work and impressive achievements across multiple subjects.
Throughout Term 3, the school proudly recognised the dedication and outstanding performances of its learners.
Principal L Kistadoo said: “These young achievers have proven that when passion meets discipline, excellence follows. Their commitment and determination inspire not only their peers but also their teachers and the wider community.”
Math stars shine
In mathematics, Grade Three learners Riley Padayachee and Lwandile Ndebele represented Mulbarton Primary at both cluster and district levels.

Riley competed in numeracy, while Lwandile showcased his skills in mental mathematics. Lwandile’s exceptional performance earned him a spot at the national level, making the school extremely proud.
Another remarkable achievement came from Nkanyezi Shongwe, who excelled in the Horizon Math Challenge, placing in the Top 100 in a highly competitive event that attracts hundreds of learners each year.

A total of 50 learners from Mulbarton Primary participated, and Nkanyezi’s hard work and focus were key to his success.
Learners explore science
Two Grade Six learners, Olerato Masetle and Simosihle Mashiya, took part in a hands-on Natural Science event outside the classroom.

The experience inspired curiosity, fostered teamwork, and deepened their love for discovery under the guidance of their teacher, Mrs Appolis.
Grade Five learner Thompho Nemanashi also represented the school at the district Science Olympiad on August 7, highlighting her dedication and passion for science.

Shining stars in cheerleading
Grade Three learners Amohelang Mdaka and Andile Makunga created and performed a cheerleading dance that stood out at the school level.

Their performance earned them the opportunity to advance to both cluster and district competitions, showcasing their talent and creativity.
Learners shine at cultural events
Mulbarton Primary learners also participated in the Alberton Eisteddfod. Both the Eisteddfod and choir groups performed exceptionally well, earning Gold Certificates for their outstanding talent.
The school extended thanks to Ms Booysens, Miss Myburgh, and Miss Cameron for their dedication in helping learners practise and build confidence.

Athletes excel
Mulbarton Primary athletes have shown exceptional skill and sportsmanship at school, cluster, and district events. One athlete advanced to the provincial level, bringing pride to the school.

Standout athletes include Omogolo Sejoe, Leo Jacobs, Bokang Ramela, Nkosinathi Msimango, and Thandolwethu Nene, who have all earned recognition as future champions. Grade Seven learner Lwandle Ngubane achieved an impressive 15th place at the provincial level, competing against 72 top athletes.

Principal Kistadoo added: “We are incredibly proud of every learner who has worked diligently to reach their goals. Congratulations to all. Their achievements remind us that the future is bright at Mulbarton Primary.”
