Allied Steelrode charity mile draw brings hope to 20 beneficiaries
The annual event at Turffontein Race Course paired horses with charities, celebrating generosity, community spirit, and the power of giving back.
The Allied Steelrode On a Mission Charity Mile race draw was held at the Turffontein Race Course’s Back Parade Ring on October 22.
The event brought together representatives from each charity, horse racing enthusiasts and philanthropists, who made generous donations.
The race on 1 November will support 20 charities, including the Door of Hope and Thembisa Welfare, showcasing the power of community and compassion.

Arun Chadha, the CEO of Allied Steelrode, spoke about the importance of giving back to the community, “This race is for the charities. We want to use horse racing and business to give back to the communities that support us and need support,” said Chadha.
The race draw determined which horse would race on behalf of each charity and allocated a starting position number to each horse. The event culminated with the barrier draw, adding to the excitement of the day.

The charity race will be a testament to the commitment of Allied Steelrode and 4 Racing in driving positive change through sport and supporting the community.
Proceeds from the event will go to the charities, with a minimum of R40 000 guaranteed to each, no matter where their horse finishes.
The Charity Mile underscores the impact of collaborative efforts in making a meaningful difference in the community.
