City Power Joburg announces power system constraints

City Power says the electricity supply is greatly limited.

City Power Johannesburg (CP) issued an outage update on the Reuven Service Delivery Centre (SDC) on February 11.

The utility warned that the power system was extremely constrained and appealed for customers to reduce consumption to prevent network overload.

The outage affected Linmeyer and, possibly, the surrounding neighbourhoods.

CP operators are investigating the cause of the outage and will provide updates in due course.

CP also announced two planned interruptions at the Robertsham Substation:

• February 11, impacting the areas of Ophirton, Lakeview, Booysens, Short Street, Show Ground, Samuel Evans, Adcock Ingram and Tyger Moth Road.

• February 14 from 08:00 to 16:00, affecting Theta, Gilview, Framton, Evans Park, Robertsham, Harry Street, West Turffontein, Robertsham East and Industrial, and Howden/Lakeview North.
