Home Affairs brings services closer to residents at Ridgeway Mall
A mobile facility truck at Ridgeway Mall helped residents access vital documents, as part of efforts to improve service delivery.
The City of Johannesburg’s CRUM Region F recently invited residents to attend a community open day, held in partnership with the Department of Home Affairs at Ridgeway Mall.
The event formed part of ongoing efforts to bring essential government services closer to communities and improve access for residents.

During the open day, the Department of Home Affairs provided services, including applications for identity documents and passports. A mobile facility truck was stationed at the mall, allowing officials to assist residents on-site more efficiently and conveniently.
City representatives said the initiative was aimed at reducing the challenges residents often face when travelling to Home Affairs offices, including transport costs and long waiting times.

By hosting services within the community, the City hopes to make it easier for people to access important documentation.
Residents who attended the event welcomed the initiative, saying it helped them save both time and money. Some also appreciated the chance to speak directly with officials and receive assistance with their applications.
