Marist Brothers Linmeyer hosts a career day
Tracey Edward, the school's marketing manager, said it was a fantastic day full of opportunities and learning.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer hosted a career day for Grade 12 learners with 44 exhibitors gathered to provide educational information on March 15.
“We were fortunate to have several university guest speakers who gave inspiring presentations. Thank you to everyone who came,” said Edward.
According to Megan McMillan of Isa Carstens Academy, they were there to exhibit what the academy is all about and what they offer.
“It is critical that learners participate in such initiatives because it greatly benefits them in terms of information. We need to understand that learners who attend an accredited institution do so for the love of their career, not for the money.”
Katlego Matiashe from Eduvos said they have community support such as these initiatives as an institution where they try to get schools involved in career expos and presentations so that learners know which career path to take.
“I’m glad this one has both Grade Nines and 12s because it allows them to get to know their career paths earlier. They must be exposed to a wide range of career opportunities,” said Matiashe.
Glynis Nkuna from the University of Pretoria said it is vital to provide learners with career guidance so that they can make informed decisions.
“We came here to let them know what the admission requirements are for them to apply to universities,” said Nkuna.
