I raised four boys on my own and a good old smack when necessary did the trick.
There is a difference between a smack for naughty behaviour and abuse and as long as each one can distinguish between the two there is nothing wrong with that.
All the older generation you can see have been brought up the right way and still have manners and decent behaviour and respect their elders.
Unlike the youth of today who do not know right from wrong.
