Students show finesse at karate champs

SHIN-GI-Tai Karate Academy students did well in the karate development tournament.

SHIN-GI-Tai Karate Academy recently sent five students to take part in the recently held World Shotokan Karate-do Federation South Africa, WSKF, South African development championship.

The development championship caters for members of all belt levels under the age of 21. This year’s event had WSKF members entered from all over South Africa, and even as far as Namibia.

Well done to the following students who competed:

Luhann Raaths – second for kata and second for Kihon Ipon Kumite; Kyle Bezuidenhout – third for kata; Conner Bezuidenhout – third for kata and first for Gohan Ipon Kumite; Abigail Leite – third for Kata and third for Sanbon and Kihon Ipon Kumite; and Xavier Boshoff – third for kata and second for Jiyu Ipon Kumite.If you are interested in joining the club contact Sensei Jackie on 084 702 6820 or Sensei Lynda 071 361 0434.
