Club unveils new backstop and makes history

The Southern Stars Baseball Club of Alberton is thrilled to announce the grand opening of their brand-new backstop.

This fantastic addition to the field, built entirely from scratch, was officially unveiled on June 2 during a historic baseball game.

Making a dash for the base.

The occasion marked a momentous day for the club as it saw the first-ever clash between the Southern Stars’ two senior teams. Unfortunately, the healthy rivalry was put on hold due to rain, resulting in a shared-points decision.

“Bring it on, I am ready!”

However, fans can rest assured that this epic battle will be continued later in the season to finally determine which team reigns supreme.

Ready and waiting for the ball.

The day’s festivities weren’t limited to the senior teams. The Southern Stars ladies’ team also took to the field that morning for a thrilling game against Palm Ridge. The spirit of competition and camaraderie filled the air, with all the players thoroughly enjoying the matches.
