Meyersdal boxer (12) on winning streak

Young boxer Sheldon ‘The IG Brawler’ Stols has displayed an uninterrupted sequence of success in his bouts.

Meyersdal’s rising star Sheldon ‘The IG Brawler’ Stols recently bagged another impressive win.

The young champ took part in a boxing tournament hosted by Champions Inn Boxing Academy (CIBA) in Lenasia on June 15.

In a bout scheduled for three rounds, he won by a points decision against his counterpart and he is now sitting at three wins and one loss.

Sheldon is working his way to the top and his skillset improves with every fight. The 12-year-old is on a mission of one day becoming a boxing world champ and no one will stand in his way of reaching it.

“The IG Brawler believes his key to success is his dedication, discipline and consistency but most importantly, his prayer with his sister before every fight. He says anything is possible if you have God in your corner. Sheldon said this was his toughest fight to date,” explained his father Jacques Harmse.

Sheldon said the important thing was to believe and listen to instructions from his coach.

“I have the best coach in amateur boxing, coach Nicky Ness and Aunty Micky Ness. I will not give up as I have a dream to be a world champion and nothing will stand in my way. Remember this name, The IG Brawler, as it will be a household name soon,” he said.

He said he is doing everything in memory of his late grandmother who passed away at least three years ago and his late grandfather who passed away five months ago.
