High school equestrian team shines at SANESA Nationals

The honour recognises their hard work and dedication in the sport, paving the way for exciting opportunities ahead.

The high school equestrian team concluded their SANESA season on a high note, with four of the talented riders being selected to compete at the SANESA Nationals during the recent school holidays.

Waterstone College is thrilled to share its outstanding achievements.

Yashna Baijoo had an exceptional performance. Her results include first place for Equitation (individual), first place for Equitation (A team), fourth place for Prix Caprilli (individual), first place for Prix Caprilli (C team) and 10th place in the 70cm (other individual).


Dominique Williams was all smiles after her good rides.

Mila Sunjich also shone, securing fifth place in the individual competition, while the Gauteng B team, which she was part of, finished in third place.

Dominique Williams impressed with a seventh-place finish in the 90cm competition class, but unfortunately had a pole in her 90cm speed class leaving her out of the running for the placing.

Simone Strydom gave a valiant effort but, unfortunately, had a pole and did not place.

The equestrian journey continued on October 7, when the riders attended the Gauteng prize-giving ceremony.

The four riders proudly received their Gauteng colours, an incredible achievement that speaks volumes about their dedication and skill.
