UPDATE: WOman Run for a Period race rescheduled, new date coming soon
The need for sanitary products is ongoing and affects many girls’ ability to attend school, so this initiative aims to address that gap.
UPDATE: February 28
The much-anticipated WOman Run for a Period race, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 1, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The organisers announced that the event will be rescheduled, with the new date to be released shortly. Participants and supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.
“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support,” said the coordinators. “We’re working hard to finalise the new date and will announce it as soon as possible.”
To support young girls in the community, WOMan (Well Organised Men) NPO will host a fun run and sports day aimed at collecting sanitary pads.
On March 1 at 06:30, residents are encouraged to lace up their running shoes, gather their friends and family, and join in on a day of fitness and fun at Kibler Park Recreation Centre.
Entry is a pack of sanitary pads. This event promises something for everyone while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who need it most.
So whether you’re joining the fun run, participating in sports activities or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement will help ensure that girls have access to the sanitary products.
