32Gi Running Club celebrates strong Comrades 2025 performance

32Gi Running Club sees 50 members cross the Comrades finish line, with standout times and strong novice performances

The 32Gi Running Club delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Comrades Marathon, a down run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

The event featured a new staggered start format aimed at reducing congestion, which initially left many runners feeling uncertain.

Despite the challenging course, 50 club members completed the race within the official cut-off time.

Among them were 12 first-time Comrades runners, and four athletes secured back-to-back medals for completing two consecutive races.

Carol Smith posted the club’s fastest time of 06:54:44, rounding off what has been an exceptional season for her.

To support its athletes, the club set up four dedicated water points along the route. Members also had access to 32Gi Sports Nutrition products to help manage the physical and mental demands of the ultra-marathon.

Club management congratulated all participants and extended well wishes for a speedy recovery.

The club’s next Big South Run, part of its monthly training series, is set for 27 July.

These runs are well regarded for their quality routes and continue to attract runners from across the region.
