‘I will continue to pursue legal recourse’: Minnie Dlamini breaks silence after MacG’s apology

Minnie Dlamini has spoken out following an apology from Podcast and Chill host Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho for offensive comments he made about her on the show.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Dlamini said she was hurt and shocked by the comments made about her body and personal life on the podcast.

“Over the past few weeks, I have watched in disbelief and deep pain as my name, body, and dignity were dragged through the mud of public discourse,” she said.

She described the remarks made by MacG as “vile, humiliating, and inexcusable”.

The comments were made last month during an episode in which MacG and his co-host, Sol Phenduka, discussed Dlamini’s breakup with Dr Brian Monaisa.

“Bro, I’m telling you, man. There’s got to be something wrong with her; maybe her coochie smells or something. You know this happens, man, it happens, especially with the hot girls,” MacG said during the episode.

MacG has since apologised in this week’s episode, saying he did not intend to offend anyone.

“I want to apologise, first and foremost, to all the female chillers, and women in general in South Africa, I might have offended with that comment. That was not the intention. We never say things to offend people,” he said.

Minnie Dlamini to take legal action

Dlamini also shared that she received an apology from Podcast and Chill via their attorneys.

“An apology, offered only after the damage is done and reputations are on the line, is not a meaningful act of accountability—especially when it comes from a platform that has made misogyny part of its brand.

“This was not a lapse in judgment. It was a reflection of values consistently displayed and defended by the show and its host. To apologise now, only when public pressure threatens their image, is to centre their own reputational damage rather than the trauma inflicted on others. And so I must say clearly: words without genuine accountability are hollow,” she said.

Dlamini added that she is taking legal action to stand up for herself and the dignity of women.

“As a public figure and a mother, I must act not only for myself but for every woman whose dignity is violated in the name of content and entertainment.”
