Crime awareness campaign carried out on Witkoppen Road

FOURWAYS – Community policing pamphlets and crime prevention safety tips were handed out to community members.

A crime awareness campaign took place on Tuesday (29 October) throughout Sector 4 to address armed robberies, common robberies and hijackings.

According to a statement by the community policing forum for Sector 4, the team walked the streets and identified weak points along Witkoppen Road and did door-to-door campaigns. Community policing pamphlets and crime prevention safety tips were handed to community members and placed on postboxes and gates of a majority of the houses.

“The interaction with the public on the road and in the residential area showed that the public appreciates the work being done,” read the statement.

The operation was led by Brigadier Veeshani Arikum, Sector 4 Commander Captain Len Celliers. Douglasdale Police Station members, community patrollers, members of the Fourways Residents Association, NHW and CPF Sector 4 members were all in attendance.
