Fourways hero saves 18 puppies from certain death
Local business owner Brenda Cooper took a stand to rescue 18 puppies from near death, partnering with Kitty and Puppy Haven to help them find them forever homes.
Fourways residents applauded and cheered for Brenda Cooper, a dedicated local business owner and passionate animal lover who saved 18 puppies from a dire fate in Diepsloot.
Cooper, the owner of Sloppy Kisses Doggy Day Care, Grooming & Deli, became a beacon of hope for 18 innocent puppies and their 2 mothers, all saved from a tragic fate.
The story began in Diepsloot, where one of Cooper’s employees learned of a desperate situation.

A local woman was overwhelmed with 18 puppies and two adult dogs, struggling financially and contemplating the unthinkable of putting them down.
Upon learning of this dire situation, Cooper sprang into action, determined to save the lives of the 18 fur babies.
“I couldn’t stand the thought of those precious lives being lost because of someone’s unfortunate situation. Every dog deserves a chance, and I was willing to do whatever it takes to help.”
Without hesitation, Cooper took a trip to Diepsloot, where she met with the owner. Demonstrating her commitment to animal welfare, she managed to convince the owner to allow her to take 14 of the puppies, and the two mothers, under her care.

In return, they reached an agreement: Cooper would ensure that the two adult dogs underwent sterilisation and would return them to the owner once she’s ready to get the remaining 3 puppies.
“This isn’t just a rescue; it’s about giving these dogs the life they deserve. We’re not a rescue centre, but we couldn’t bear the thought of these innocent lives being lost.”
Cooper has already teamed up with Kitty and Puppy Haven, who will assist in finding loving homes for the puppies. “Our priority is to ensure each puppy finds a safe and nurturing environment. We believe every one of them deserves a loving family.”
