Rotary Club’s partnership with Virgin Active collects for a good cause
They recently supported a request from RE/Max, delivering items to those who required them, showcasing the club's commitment to serving the community and making a positive impact.
The Rotary Club of Fourways Main Reef has forged a meaningful partnership with several Virgin Active gyms, collecting and distributing donated items to those in need.
The club receives unclaimed lost and found items from the gyms, including sweat towels, water bottles, and clothing, which are then washed, sorted, and stored for future use.
This initiative has enabled the club to respond swiftly to requests for support, such as a recent appeal from RE/MAX, a real estate company.

Member of the club Jobst Schulte-Brader, took the lead in collecting and delivering a bag of towels and clothing for the company’s initiative.
“It was a great experience, and I felt good contributing to RE/MAX’s annual drive with items from our stock,” he said.
“RE/MAX already has a network and links to places of need, so instead of us looking for a worthy destination for the items we received from the gyms, we could support another great initiative. It’s a win-win situation.”

Schulte-Brader praised the efficiency of the partnership, noting that company was very specific in its call for donations.
“We already have a link to The Cradle of Hope, one of the chosen receivers of items. From the gyms, we usually receive a lot of towels, sports-related clothing, and water bottles. And from another source, we had bags with children’s clothing and shoes. I’m certain all the items will be useful for RE/MAX’s initiative.”
