The developers of Steyn City are pumping funds into improving surrounding infrastructure.
This includes a new water reservoir on the north-east portion of the estate which will store up to 30 megalitres. It is part of city council’s and Johannesburg Water’s master planning and regional infrastructure upgrade for the region.
Steyn City has provided the land which is the highest elevation point in this location, and was necessary for the provision of adequate water pressure.
The developers built the R35 million reservoir, which will supply water to 35 percent of the estate, while the remainder will supply Dainfern, Dainfern Valley, Dainfern Ridge and parts of Diepsloot, providing a continuous supply of mains water and reducing the risk of water shortages.
The new reservoir is expected to solve the water pressure problems during peak periods, as well as assist council in reaching its target to provide more households with access to tap water.
