Veld fire causes power outage in Fourways area
Eskom confirms that power has been restored in a number of Fourways areas that were in the dark today.
A veld fire near the Paulshof substation has resulted in a power outage affecting several areas in Sandton, including Beverley, Lonehill, Magaliessig, Paulshof, Fourways, Sunninghill, and Woodmead.
This according to Eskom in a notice to residents on social media.
According to Eskom, the fire spread through the perimeter fence of the substation, exposing voltage transformers to extreme heat, which caused them to explode.
