Lonehill seniors celebrate a year of friendship and festive cheer

With membership climbing back to pre-COVID levels, the Senior Citizens Coffee Club ends the year on a warm and joyful note, sharing holiday wishes and inviting more seniors to join in 2026.

The Senior Citizens Coffee Club in Lonehill is closing off the year with full hearts and renewed energy as the group celebrates a successful return to pre-Covid numbers from its new home at Dino’s Pizzeria Restaurant in the Lonehill Shopping Centre.

After years of rebuilding following the pandemic, the club is once again thriving. Each month, new members join the gatherings, friendships deepen, and the group continues its mission to tackle self-isolation and loneliness among seniors, one cup of coffee at a time.

Adele Romanis, one of the organisers, expressed her joy at seeing the club’s growth and impact this year. “We’ve had a roaring success from our new home at Dino’s. Our numbers are climbing back to where they were before Covid, and every month we welcome new faces. The friendships are growing beautifully, it’s truly heart-warming.”

The club’s welcoming atmosphere and consistent support have helped many seniors rediscover connection, community, and purpose. What began as a simple social gathering has become a lifeline for older residents who may otherwise spend much of their time alone.
