5FM takes ‘Ampli5’ mornings to Dainfern College
Nick Hamman and the 5FM Breakfast team take their show on the road, bringing live broadcasts, epic activities, and unforgettable performances to schools across the country.

It all began with a simple realisation: Thousands of listeners, especially school going ones, never get the chance to see their favourite radio hosts. This became an innovative idea – To take radio to the learners.
“We wanted to show up for the people that we speak to. We know, on the 5 Breakfast show, that we have a lot of young people all over the country who listen to us every morning. But they don’t get to see us because they are in their cars to work, or on their way to school. So, this is an opportunity for us to get onto the ground, and actually see the faces that we talk to. The idea came from the feeling that it would be an exciting thing to do,” said Nick Hamman, the host of the show and content creator.
Hamman and the 5FM Breakfast team, who are on a mission to Ampli5 mornings for the Class of 2025, had their latest stop at Dainfern College where they broadcast live, hosting an unforgettable morning of epic activities, and show-stopping performances by the talented Dainfern College Band.

Reo Reddy, senior producer of 5FM, said: “The Class of 2025 Ampli5yed by 5FM campaign is more than just a celebration; it’s a heartfelt gesture to extend well wishes to the entire student body, particularly the Grade 8 Class of 2025 as they start their high school journey.”
He said the campaign also shines a spotlight on all the other grades, acknowledging the excitement and challenges that come with each new academic year. “This is the first campaign that we have done as back to school, but it is going to happen more often. We also have other school campaigns, for instance in youth month we do a similar thing called: School Takeover, and we have a Walk Right Championship that is also coming up for all the high schools across the country.”

Reddy explained that during the campaign, they take the opportunity to delve deeper into the schools they visit. They aim to showcase the unique talents, academic achievements, and perspectives of the teachers, to show what makes each school special.
This approach allows them to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the schools, and share their stories with a wider audience.
“We know the reality of our country, and we know how important good grades are. They can take you far in life. So, we are always encouraging, highlighting when there is a school with a 100% pass rate.”
