Curro schools dive into a fun-filled swimming season

Group 5 learners from Curro Chartwell and Curro Fourways are making waves with their swimming extra-murals.

As the new term gets underway, Curro Chartwell and Curro Fourways Group 5 learners recently took on the pool for their first swimming curriculum lesson.

The first session saw enthusiastic learners taking to the pool, their excitement palpable as they splashed and cheered in the water.

This weekly activity is valuable to their extra-mural programme, providing a structured and supportive environment where learners can develop essential swimming techniques.

According to Busi Zibi, marketing officer for Curro Fourways, Chartwell, and Bryanston: “Swimming is an essential life skill that fosters water safety, confidence, and co-ordination.

“Recognising the importance of early exposure to swimming, we integrate weekly swimming lessons into our curriculum programme, included in the school fees at no additional cost to parents.”

These lessons provide a fun and interactive way for learners to develop fundamental swimming techniques, such as navigation, discipline, and perseverance.

As Zibi notes: “Through consistent practice, our learners not only learn to navigate the water safely but also cultivate discipline and perseverance, key attributes in mastering any new skill.”

Under the instruction and guidance of professional swimming instructors for both schools, the children’s water safety remains a top priority while having fun.

The preschools are committed to ensuring that each child enjoys their time in the water while gaining valuable skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

“As the season progresses, both Curro Chartwell and Curro Fourways look forward to witnessing the growth and confidence of their Group 5 swimmers.”
