Natasha Academy of Dancing’s acrobatic team excels at 2025 Acrobatic Sport Competition
Local dance academy dancers celebrated success at the 2025 ASSA regional and district competitions.
Natasha Academy of Dancing, a vibrant dance studio in Pineslopes, has once again excelled with outstanding performances at the 2025 Acrobatic Sport South Africa (ASSA) competitions.
With 29 talented dancers competing across various levels, the studio has showcased dedication, discipline, and sheer passion for dance. Natasha Ehlers, the owner and coach of the studio, explained that the journey to the national championships was no small feat.
“Dancers had undergone rigorous training, investing countless hours to perfect their routines and achieve their best,” she said. Ehlers added that this season’s results reflected their hard work and commitment, with all dancers making remarkable progress and earning their place in upcoming competitions.

“The first round of Johannesburg regionals, on May 11, saw our dancers secure their spots for the next phase. The subsequent Central Gauteng District Competition, held on May 24 and 25, was a showcase of talent and determination.”
Five dancers attained the highest scores across their respective levels within the entire Central Gauteng region. Out of the 23 acrobats who were eligible, 22 of them achieved their Central Gauteng Federation colours, advancing through to the next round of competitions, the Gauteng Inter-District Competition, on June 16-20.
Ehlers commented on the studio’s commitment to quality training and fostering a passion for dance. “It is so rewarding to see our dancers develop and excel. We are incredibly proud of all our students and their achievements this season.”

Among the standout performers were:
- Caley Baggott – Acro tots to pre-level 1,
- Milan du Plessis – Level 5,
- Eryn McFarland – Level 6,
- Dasha Mapamba – Level 8, and
- Hannah Mangold – Elite advanced.
