Crawford learners combine dance and karate with their moms
Crawford International Lonehill Pre-Primary hosted a heartwarming and energetic Mother’s Day celebration that could have carried on all day.
The morning was a symphony of laughter and music as Crawford International Lonehill Pre-Primary celebrated Mother’s Day with a special event.
Moms and their little ones shared a joyful experience that combined dance and karate, creating a day filled with rhythm, movement, and love.
The Dance Mouse session got everyone moving to groovy music. Moms followed energetic routines, adding their flair and creating a vibrant atmosphere.

“The celebration could have carried on all day,” said Louise Mathers, the school’s client and experience officer.
“The Dance Mouse session was a definite highlight, with groovy music getting everyone moving. Many moms easily followed the routines, while others added their flair, creating a vibrant, joyful atmosphere. The energy was contagious, and the room echoed with giggles and cheer.”
But the excitement didn’t stop there. Mathers said the karate segment added a feisty twist.

“With just a few karate moves, it was clear the moms were hooked. Participating in a class led by a karate instructor gave everyone a taste of what it means to be a true karateka. The enthusiasm and confidence were palpable.”

She added that Mother’s Day was a global celebration honouring mothers and motherhood, a time to show appreciation for their love, care, and influence.

“At Lonehill Pre-Primary, it was celebrated in true style – with rhythm, movement, and shared joy. It was a day of connection and gratitude for the amazing moms in our school community. Principal Kopano Dandala enjoyed a few dances with the little ones, and this, of course, got them giggling with delight and showing off their best moves.”
