Lonehill’s spooktacular Trick or Treat raises funds for community projects
Witches, superheroes, and little monsters filled the Lonehill Koppies as they gathered for their much-loved spooktacular Trick or Treat fundraiser.
Lonehill’s spooktacular Trick or Treat fundraiser once again brought the community together for an afternoon of laughter, colour, and connection on Saturday.
Organised by the Lonehill Residents Association (LRA) and sponsored by Pam Golding Properties, the event has become one of the suburb’s most anticipated traditions.
Now in its eighth year, the Trick-or-Treat celebration continues to grow, as does its heart.

For Shelley Miller, LRA spokesperson, the day is about much more than sweets and costumes. “This event is totally children-based and all about goodwill in the community.

We like to call it Trick or Treat, not Halloween, because for us it’s about families coming together, children having fun, and neighbours connecting. Everything we raise goes straight back into the community.”
The annual event draws more than 300 children, aged between 2 and 12, for an afternoon of safe and festive fun. Families enjoyed a magic show, a costume parade, and a trick-or-treat walk around the Lonehill Koppie, collecting sweets and prizes along the way.
Funds raised from Trick or Treat will go toward upgrading the Lonehill Dam and Park, part of the LRA’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve shared public spaces.

Pam Golding Properties, a long-time supporter of the event, has proudly sponsored it since it began. Estate agent Jared Bradnick said their partnership with the LRA shows a shared commitment to keeping Lonehill one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant suburbs.

“We’ve partnered with the LRA because we see the good they do for the community. You don’t find many suburbs where residents work this closely together.
Lonehill stands out for its cleanliness, safety, and strong sense of community spirit. This event really showcases that.”
