Siyabonga ‘Ceeya’ Kunene explores love in upcoming single What More Do U Want

An up-and-coming artist is bringing a softer sound to Fourways as he prepares to release a new single inspired by unanswered questions that can come with love.

Siyabonga ‘Ceeya’ Kunene is showing a softer side of himself with his upcoming single What More Do U Want, a pop record with melodic trap influences that explores the frustrations of giving your all to a relationship and still feeling like it is not enough.

The single is set to be released on September 18, and Kunene is currently in Fourways shooting the music visuals for the track. He said the atmosphere in Fourways has added to the experience as he brings the romantic concept to life.

The new single is a departure from what listeners may be used to hearing from Kunene, as he explores love and romance, something he said he has been trying to master musically for years.

“The inspiration behind it is to offer a different side of me, love and romance musically, that I’ve been trying to master for years,” he said. “I feel the execution on this is precise sonically.”

What More Do U Want centres on a relationship where one partner feels they are constantly giving, but nothing they do seems to satisfy the other. The result is uncertainty, leaving the person wondering what else they can do to make their partner happy.

Kunene said the song was particularly easy to record because its subject was something he was experiencing at the time. “Recording the concept was easy, simply because it’s something I was going through at the time.”

The song took about two hours to lay down, with Kunene describing it as a pop record infused with melodic trap elements.
“I’m mostly excited to hear the feedback from fans on the new sound I’m on,” he said.

Kunene hopes the track connects with anyone who has ever questioned whether they are doing enough in a relationship. And for now, Fourways is providing the backdrop as he puts the finishing touches on the visual side of this new chapter.
