Ward 94 councillor David Foley, who witnessed the fire, told Fourways Review that people inside the shopping centre’s shops were evacuated as a safety precaution while emergency services attended the scene.
Foley said he noticed smoke while filling potholes on Lone Close and Lonehill Boulevard, a road leading into the shopping centre.
Fourways Review attempted to contact The Braai Room for comment but was unsuccessful at the time of publication.
