Transition Football star seals a deal with Gulf United of Dubai
Pinnacle College Kyalami's Transition Football program is off to a flying start, with a 100% pass rate, international signings, and a packed calendar of matches. Coach Claudio Lorenzani has a lot to celebrate.
Pinnacle College Kyalami’s Transition Football programme is off to a flying start, and coach Claudio Lorenzani couldn’t be prouder. With a successful first training session under their belt, the team is preparing for a thrilling season ahead.
But what’s got Lorenzani grinning is the impressive balance his players have struck between athletic and academic excellence. Last year’s 100% pass rate among matrics, including standout Miguel De Gouveia’s six distinctions, is proof of the programme’s winning formula.
“This shows us the boys are ready to be full-time student-athletes in college either locally or abroad,” said Lorenzani.

He added their first training session took place at Pinnacle College Kyalami on January 15, where players were put through their paces with conditioning, technical and some tactical training to polish up ahead of a big season.
“We are well underway with our calendar and have friendly games lined up this week against SuperSport United and the University of Pretoria. Currently, we also have two boys on trial at the University of Pretoria and three at Highlands Park.”
Lorenzani’s face lit up with pride and excitement as he shared the thrilling news about one of his star players. “We’re over the moon that Biko Kunene, our talented cup-winning midfielder from last season, has taken the next step in his career.”

He said just two weeks ago, Kunene put pen to paper and signed with Gulf United of Dubai – a fantastic opportunity for him to showcase his skills on the international stage.

“So, we have started the year with a bang. We can’t wait for a massive season ahead and look forward to producing the next talented player to move on from our programme.
“This year, our boys’ boarding school programme is full as we believe the community is starting to see the benefits of Pinnacle College Kyalami and Transition Football working together to produce talented sportsmen on the field and intelligent people in the classroom.”
