Boxing bootcamp is set to become a game-changer for local fitness enthusiasts

Passionate fitness instructor Zwelakhe Mazibuko is launching high-energy boxing boot camps to deliver a fun, results-driven training experience catering to all fitness levels.

Fitness enthusiasts in Riverside View, Diepsloot, and Fourways are in for a treat as new high-energy boxing boot camps are set to launch in the area on March 1.

Led by Zwelakhe Mazibuko (34), a seasoned group instructor at Boxstudio and a white-collar fighter, the programme promises to deliver a fun, results-driven training experience that caters to all fitness levels. The sessions will be held in the community park in Riverside.

As a passionate fitness enthusiast, Mazibuko has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of fitness.

“I’ve always been passionate about fitness and the power it has to transform lives, both physically and mentally. My journey started with boxing, which taught me discipline, resilience, and self-confidence. As a group instructor at Boxstudio, I saw firsthand how fitness could empower people and change their perspectives on what they’re capable of. What keeps me going is seeing people break barriers, achieve their goals, and leave each session stronger than they arrived.”

The boot camps’ structured sessions will offer different intensity levels, ensuring that beginners can build their foundation while more advanced participants can push their limits. He said a mix of strength, cardio, and boxing drills would provide a well-rounded fitness experience.

“My long-term goal is to turn this boot camp into a permanent fitness hub in the community, where people can improve not just their physical health but also their mental well-being. I hope to inspire a culture of fitness and empowerment, where everyone, no matter their background, can access quality fitness training and take control of their health journey.”

He added he wanted the community to be involved in shaping the programme. “I’m asking for feedback on what types of workouts they’re interested in – be it weight loss, strength training, or boxing basics. Based on their input, I’ll customise the programme to meet their expectations and ensure it’s something they truly enjoy and benefit from.”

Mazibuko said as a white-collar fighter, he experienced the thrill of competition and the mental toughness that boxing builds.

“These experiences helped me grow both as a coach and as a person, and they shape the way I lead my boot camps today, combining fun, energy, and results-driven training.”
