Stolen motorbike recovered

The Primrose police arrested a 19-year-old man for the possession of a stolen motorbike.

A 19-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police for the possession of a stolen motorbike.

The arrest was made while police were in the Makause informal settlement to collect medication for a man detained at the Primrose Police Station.

“Officers found the motorbike, which fitted the description of a bike which was reported stolen from Astronomy Road in Fishers’ Hill,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Police approached the accused and asked where he had received the motorbike from.

“The suspect was unable to explain where he had received the bike from and neither could he produce ownership papers for the motorbike, so he was arrested,” said Maome.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
