The world-renowned Flying Lions Formation Aerobatic Team took to the sky at the 15th annual Rand Airshow, at Rand Airport, last Sunday. The team wowed crowds with their tight formations and mind-blowing stunts.
Plane enthusiasts braved the windy weather to witness the aerial feats on display at the 15th annual Rand Airshow, at Rand Airport, last Sunday.
This annual event draws in crowds from all over the East Rand and this year was no different.
The crowd was treated to a day filled with thrills, daring feats and magnificent aerial displays.
The event started with a number of skydivers flying through the sky to land safely on the tarmac before the planes took to the sky.
Patrons were then treated to a number of performances which included the world-renowned Flying Lions Formation Aerobatic Team, the Henley Air Bell 222 Chopper, the Gabriel Wings Aerobatic Team, Extra 330SC Solo Aerobatics, as well as, a flyover by a Mango B738.
The day held something for young and old.
